Video Roundup: June 18, 2007

Wow. Taking a little time off was a baaaad idea. Just look at all the videos I've managed to find (11!) and I'm ashamed to admit I gave up around halfway. Hopefully you'll learn to forgive me.

With the Japanese release of Phantom Hourglass creeping up on the east side, commercials and trailers are present about. The latest trailer probably shows us the most we've seen from the DS title. Cuccoos, firetraps, and...eskimos? All wrapped in a nice, bite-sized package(s). It's also worth noting that the hourglass is officially a new item, if you hadn't already predicted.

Video Roundup: June 13, 2007

A lot, a lot, a lot, a lot of videos today, folks. You should probably devote the next weekend just for this selection. From Guitar Hero, to The Darkness, to Soul Calibur, to StarCraft, summer droughts are meant for big-name speculation as gamers prepare for the upcoming holiday season. Look at today as a prime example. This is only the beginning.

Video of the Day:

This is a great video for one reason: the quality difference shown between the classic Prince of Persias and the new, updated version for XBox Live Arcade is displayed beautifully well. Those GameTrailers guys are pretty brilliant, thinking of demonstrating each game on one playing field. I've seen videos that do similar things so poorly that there really isn't any point to the video at all. Or maybe... the difference between the classic and the updated versions of Prince of Persia are just so radically different that it automatically needs worth mentioning. Any way you see it, you have to admit, Prince of Persia Classic (the new version) looks pretty damn good.

Video Roundup: June 11, 2007

Let's get this party started shall we? I've got a heaping helping, or decent dose of today's most entertaining vids. Don't watch them all at once though, you'll spoil. Glancing over our selection once again, it looks like we've got three announcement/introduction type videos. From Id, to Guitar Hero, to Sony's The Agency, I think you'll be pretty happy.

Video of the Day:

Sit in awe of the wonder that is GH: 80s Edition. Memorize those notes, folks; I have a feeling this sneak peak will come in handy later on.

The featured song is Holy Diver (as made famous by Dio).

Video Roundup: June 9, 2007

Phooey. No one liked our awesome Video Roundup banner? You guys should be ashamed of yourselves; pick up an Idiot's Guide to Art or something. Banner replacement is just one of many changes made to our daily video section and it only took a week to develop! The second thing you'll notice is that I'm a liar. Remember this quote? "Plan to see YouTube videos only." Lies. Because starting today, our sights are expanding, gathering videos from all across the web. Unfortunately, some sites (*cough*GameVideos*cough*) don't have (working) embeddable flicks, so you'll have to work hard in clicking those directing links to watch some cool moving pictures.

Video of the Day:

Up until today, I was completely unaware Nintendo was holding some sort of Uwe Boll-esque contest. Indie filmmakers create 5 minutes of game-related/entertaining footage in the hopes of being noticed for their directorial skills in New York City. Based on the quality of this film, these guys could even make Super Mario Bros. not suck ass.

Video Roundup: June 1, 2007

Quick clarification: Plan to see YouTube videos only. But I don't want anybody to worry about anything being left out; I'll make sure all the best videos make it to this page each day in some way or another. Why YouTube? Well, YouTube = limited technical issues. No one can argue with that. And also, I like it when all videos are the same size. Uniformity kicks ass.

Video of the Day:

Higher Quality

Resident Evil 4 on GameCube or Resident Evil 4 on PC? What looks better??? Based on the quality of this video, I'd say the PC version looks a bit better. But you wouldn't really know it from this shitty YouTube embedding (I love YT). Click the above link to GameTrailers and come back when you have a definitive answer.

Today's new feature is a good one. It took almost a week to perfect and the banner took a half hour to photoshop. Amazing, huh? Everyday from now on, we expect you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Or, if you're too busy, just take a gander at our Video of the Day; it should cover all your bases.

Video of the Day:

Some of these games actually look really fun...and practical! For instance, why would Nintendo ever leave out a game about C-Sections? We're going to need the practice for when the government starts regulating tubal ligations after the second generation of baby boomers in 2028.
