If the two people who stumbled upon LowScore are still perusing through our pages and are curious about our absence, they can blame "finals" for everything we may have done to their health. To recap, here are some choice news stories for the date of April 24th, 2007 to quench your thirst before LowScore's official debut:
1.E3 Downsized
I'm sure this was already expected and/or confirmed, but now we've got some numbers:
1C Company, Activision, Akella, Atari, Atlus, Bethesda Softworks, Disney Interactive Studios, Capcom, Codemasters, Crave Entertainment, Eidos, Electronic Arts, Konami, LucasArts, Majesco, Microsoft, Midway, Namco Bandai Games, NCsoft, Nintendo, Sega, Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony Online Entertainment, Square Enix, Take-Two Interactive, THQ, Ubisoft, Vivendi Games, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
33 developers! I wonder if Ben's happy about his first and last good E3.
2.Grand Theft Auto IV for Noobs
Check out 25 tidbits you may not have known about GTA IV.
Did you see any female pedestrians? Are there any good looking chicks?
Sigh.... Truth be told, I’m curious why anyone would want to know this. Is this really one of the top questions? If my memory serves me correctly, I don’t recall myself thinking “man, that chick is banging” or “I find myself strangely attracted to this game”, but I can confirm that there are female pedestrians in the game. There’s a ton of ‘em, too. They shop. They talk. They even wear clothing.
3.NiGHTS Wii Screens
4.FFXIII Shall Last a Decade
Not only is it assumed the Final Fantasy series will continue to create hundreds of full sequels, but the FFXIII teams is psyched to have their next game last the next 10 years.
Although speaking with a Nintendo magazine, Hashimoto brought up Final Fantasy XIII as a comparison for Square Enix's decision to expand upon the FFVII storyline through the Compilation project years after the game's original release. "Different from something like VII, which we expanded upon afterwards, with Fabula Nova Crystallis FFXIII, we've thought about an expansive world setting from the start. Under the idea of wanting everyone to be sucked into the world for 10 years, we're preparing a number of categories."
5. :( Bioshock Limited Edition Exclusive to Gamestop/EB
What?! I have to leave the house? Preposterous!
"Typically we would have started a limited edition six months ago, but even with our looming production deadlines we're trying to listen to the community and fans -- in choosing the contents based on the poll, and in designing the front of the box. With our current timeline, I don't think we could make 500,000 copies of the LE to get out to every retailer just given production times on the figurine alone. So we were looking at a very limited quantity, and we were fortunate that GameStop and EB would pick it up on such a short notice. Given the limited quantity, if we were to spread it out over every retailer we would be looking at maybe two copies per store, and that's not fair to anyone."
